The T-Zone of your face is comprised of a straight line from the forehead and nose to the chin. The crossbar of the T extends from side-to-side beneath the eyes and includes the cheeks. When dealing with the T-Zone, you’ll find that your skin’s needs in this area can be very different and even change over time.
It’s important that you choose the right products for each area as cosmetics can exacerbate skin problems. The T-Zone is the area of your face with the largest concentration of oil-secreting glands. The forehead and chin are more prone to oiliness and acne, but that doesn’t mean that every T-Zone is the same. Cosmetics, cleansers and moisturizers must be tailored to your individual needs.
Forehead
Combined with oiliness, the forehead is also a prime location for the formation of lines, wrinkles and creasing due to ordinary facial expressions made while concentrating, frowning or raising the eyebrows.
Nose
The nose area is well-known for breakouts. The bridge of the nose is also notorious for the formation of lines that can range from fine to severe. They’re caused by repeated facial expressions such as frowning, squinting and wrinkling the nose. Enlarged pores and broken capillaries are a common problem.
Chin
The chin is also prone to highly visible breakouts and some cosmetics can make the situation worse. Restricted circulation to the chin results in a dull appearance and accelerates aging. Chin-related problems can even make you look 10 years older.
Eyes
The skin around the eyes is extremely delicate and must be treated gently. It quickly loses hydration and shows age lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. If not cared for properly, the area around and under the eyes becomes red, dark, shadowed and saggy, leading to a puffy appearance that makes you look perpetually tired.
Cheeks
The cheek area can lose moisture and become dry. The cheeks will quickly announce if you have hormonal fluctuations, acne, or enlarged pores. Broken capillaries are a common occurrence.
